This weeks BCA posts...
*National City lets you donate to the cure with every purchase with their Diamond Edition Breast Cancer Awareness Checking Package. National City will donate $10 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation the first time you use your card, plus a portion of every purchase there after.



* Target has it's BCA items online now.


*Every week I'm going to highlight a breast cancer organization that provides support, education, and information about breast cancer and breast health. This weeks organization is Sisters Network, a national African-American breast cancer survivorship organization. The mission of Sisters Network is increasing local and national attention to the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the African American Community. Visit their site.




*Sign up for Fuji Film's One Million Moms for Mammograms to help raise awareness of the importance of early detection through mammography screening. Fill out the form to pledge to get your own mammogram, or pledge on behalf of you mother, sister, daughter, girlfriend, or any other important woman in your life.



*Last week I mentioned Yoplait's Save Lids to Save Lives collection drive. Yoplait also asks people to nominate men and women who are making a difference in the fight against breast cancer. These Yoplait Champions are featured on the site and for the rest of the month I'll introduce you to a few of them. This weeks Yoplait Champion is LaTondria Carter. LaTondria volunteers for and coordinates breast cancer fund raising events, and educates others on pertinent initiatives about the disease and has helped raise over $90,000 for the FAMU Relay For Life Planning Committee in the past 3 years. This weeks BCA posts...
*You have to eat anyway, so why not Cook for the Cure using products from Kitchen Aid. Better yet, throw a Cook For the Cure party. You can download a party guide from the Kitchen Aid web site and view pictures of "Pink Parties" parties thrown by Kitchen Aid customers. Kitchen Aid will donate a minimum of one million dollars to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation this year. Just remember that if you buy a pink product from the collection you have to register it to generate a donation. There is a handy link on the Cook for the Cure website that makes it easy:)




* This years Saks Fifth Avenue Key To The Cure limited edition tee is designed by Juicy Couture. It's $35, says "Viva La Cure" on the front and 100% of the proceeds benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation Women's Cancer Research Fund. The Fund helps to advance scientific research into better detection of breast and other women's cancers. Saks is also donating 2% of all sales made in Sakc stores and sacks.com from October 18th -21st to local and national women's cancer charities. So, get the shirt and shop the weekend.

Here is the first batch of posts for Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Month 2007!


*Please go check out the 6th Annual Boobie Thon. Submit a photo of your boobies (covered or uncovered) and/or donate to the Susan G. Komen or The Deb Fund from October 1, 2007 to October 8, 2007.



* Lee National Denim Day is this Friday, October 5th. Rally everyone at your job, school, or church to pay $5 to wear jeans and donate the proceeds to Lee National Denim Day. Women’s Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation receive 100% of the net proceeds raised. If you can't do it this Friday you can have a "Denim Day" at your site any day this month. Visit the Lee National Denim Day site to learn how.

*Every week I'm going to highlight a breast cancer organization that provides support, education, and information about breast cancer and breast health. This weeks organization is Y-Me. The mission of Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization is to ensure, through information, empowerment and peer support, that no one faces breast cancer alone. Visit their site.



*Pretty City is presenting Pretty in Pink, 31 days of $31 Spa and Salon treatments to raise awareness and funds for Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization. A list of participating spas and salons is here.


*Start looking for the pink lids on packages of Yoplait Original, Light, Thick and Creamy, Light Thick and Creamy, Whips!, and Yoplait Smoothies. Then wash them off and mail them in to Yoplait because it's time for their Save Lids to Save Lives collection drive. They will donate 10 cents to The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, up to $1.5 million, for every lid with a guarantee of at least $500,000.
